Questions, answered.
Everything about booking, the scan, your report and your data.
Is this a medical test?
No. BodyIntel provides body composition education, not medical or clinical assessment. Scan results do not diagnose, treat, or predict any health condition. BodyIntel is not a medical service or provider. If you have health concerns, please consult a qualified medical professional.
How much does a scan cost?
$59 for a single scan, which includes your full results in the InBody app and a walkthrough of your results with a BodyIntel operator. Book and pay online, then arrive at your chosen time.
How do I book?
Choose a venue and time on our Book a Scan page and pay online. You will receive a confirmation with the venue address and everything you need to know. If there is no scan location near you yet, join the notify list and we will tell you when one arrives.
Do I have to be a member of the host gym or studio?
No. Scans are open to everyone. The venue is simply where the scanner is located that week. Book online, turn up at your time, get scanned.
Does it hurt? Is it safe?
No needles, no radiation, no discomfort. The InBody 970 uses safe low-level electrical signals you cannot feel. The scan is not suitable for people with implanted electronic medical devices such as pacemakers, or for pregnant women.
Do I need to fast or prepare?
No fasting or special preparation is needed. For a more consistent result, avoid heavy exercise or a large meal in the couple of hours before your scan and wear light clothing.
How long does it take?
The scan itself takes under 60 seconds. Allow around ten minutes for your visit, including your operator walkthrough.
What do I get?
A full InBody 970 result set, delivered to the free InBody app, covering 20+ body composition metrics, including skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, segmental analysis, total body water and your Phase Angle benchmark, explained to you on the spot.
How do I get my results?
Your results are delivered to the free InBody app within minutes of your scan. Download the app before scan day and register with the same mobile number you used to book; that is how your results find you. Your operator also walks you through everything on screen before you leave.
What is Phase Angle?
Phase Angle is a body composition benchmark produced by the InBody 970. It reflects the integrity of your cell membranes and is generally associated with muscle mass and hydration. Higher values are typically seen in people with greater muscle and better hydration, and Phase Angle is also studied in research as an indicator of cellular health. It remains a body composition metric, not a clinical indicator, disease predictor, or medical diagnostic tool. For context on your results, speak with a qualified health professional.
Can I track my results over time?
Yes. Repeat scans every four to eight weeks show whether your training and nutrition are actually changing your body composition. Your results are stored so each new scan compares against your last.
What should I do with my results?
Take your report to your trainer, coach, dietitian or health professional. It gives them precise data to work with. BodyIntel operators explain what each number means in a body composition context; they do not provide medical advice or dietary prescriptions.
How is my data handled?
Your scan data is collected with your consent, stored securely, and never shared with the host venue or anyone else without your explicit authorisation. See our privacy policy for full details.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before your booking for a full refund or a new time. Inside 24 hours, we will always try to move you to the next available session. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
I run a gym or studio. How do partnerships work?
Two models. Revenue share: we run the activation at your venue on the public $59 price and share the revenue, and gyms can choose to subsidise their members below that price. Machine hire: you hire the scanner and run it your way. Terms are discussed at enquiry through our For Gyms page.
